Default Would LOVE to Collaborate

Hi all,

I have a lot of gear and not much to do with it. Would LOVE to take on some winter projects.....

I am primarily a bass player, but I can also play some lead, rhythm, slide, keys, etc. I have no drums but use drum loops.

For my DAW, I use Sonar 7.0PE. My style and tastes tend to run to the progressive rock genre, but I just did a country song for my uncle. You can hear it by going to:

Thanks!

Just curious...what kind of music are you wanting to lean towards? I'd love to work with you if our musical palettes might compliment each other. I tend to write music for the purpose of lyrics but have a not-so-good singing voice. I'd love to hear about a song's lyrical premise (or full lyrics for that matter) and write the instrumental parts to compliment said premise or theme. I tend to write instrumental rock/metal, prog, electronic, pop, and bluesy stuff. I'm always up for a challenge though, and I'd love to collaborate with you and see how it goes.

Also Weekend Squire, I have some songs that I've written that need real bass guitars. I've been using VSTs for bass mainly...they just don't seem to do it for me though.

One final thought to throw out there...I'd be down with trying this collab- thing with multiple people such as yourselves. Obviously, I think it would/could be better with a limited number of collaborators to keep control over the number of chieves. We wouldn't want to get outta hand and nothing get done.

I'm using Sonar 8 Producer, have a couple MIDI controllers, and a pretty decent audio/MIDI interface (Edirol FA-101). I have a number of decent plugins, both hardware and software at my disposal as well. I'm mainly a guitar player, but I'm a drummer also. All my drums are MIDI programmed or performed with my Yamaha DD-55 controller. For what my DD-55 may lack in velocity sensitivity, I make up for in going back over my drums with the mouse to edit velocity dynamics.

I can actually be a "writing machine," especially if I have a thematic, lyrical concept to inspire me. So, just throwing that out there...if any of that sounds workable, I'm up for go...any thoughts on this?

I was going to rant that you need to go out and get laid and quit thinking your life is a mistake, but....

Sometimes you have to go with those feelings and write 'em out. Can make for great music.

LOL!!!!11 Can't say I don't initially agree with this...but, at the same time, I've felt such a way before at one time or another...but very briefly...then I got laid...hmm...

Dark emotions such as these can bring about some great songs. So, hells yeah!

The premise seems pretty sporadic as the last two lines contradict the first two. I like it though, as it kinda illustrates how human emotion changes course on a dime in a split second. This is an angry//sad song. So, after pondering such a dark concept, perhaps you should take this on the Theatrical Black Metal route... ... ...what do you think?.. .. . . [kidding]

In all seriousness though, within what genre/style are you wanting to be able to present this? I would suggest a kind of "Staind" rock sound if nothing comes to mind.

You haven't said whether you'd like my help or not, but I'd love to get something cooked up for this instrumentally...I'm already getting a melody coming to mind for this. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

yeah actually i know about the two different points of view.. it was intentional
also I'm kind of thinking some type of rock um staind would be good also I've thought of maybe giving a little bit of a punk kick to it... yeah your help would be wonderful being I'm trying to get some... I'm not very good with melodies unless I have a keyboard Which wont be happening again for another month or two being when I lost the recording studio I was using I also had to sell my keyboard anyway long story not gonna go into all that
but just let me know

alright man whenever you read this post this also somehting else ive been working on... not finished

I hope the end of time isn't near
because the end of time is what i fear
i hope its far away
and every day i bow my head to pray

it could happen tomorrow
it could happen today
and the people wont have much sorrow
cause well all be blown away

and all there is to say is

I hope i go to heaven
cause i dont feel like tellin
the man downastairs im finallly here
and maybe in heaven i can have another beer

hope you like it um i have to admit this is probably getting more in my country roots than rock though
