Default Vocalist Seeking Instrumentalists

Although I can play guitar, bass, and keyboard, my main instrument is my voice: I sing lead, harmony, and backup vocals.

I don't currently have any sophisticated musical instruments of my own, so it occurred to me that if I could find a talented player or two who share my general musical tastes, a fruitful collaboration might ensue.

My main genre would be rock of the vocally melodic variety, with influences including the Beatles, ELO, Queen, Jellyfish, Aqualung, Radiohead, and Muse, to name a few. My specialty is harmony, I love creating lush, beautiful vocal harmonies of the late Beatles/ELO/Queen variety. I believe there's a big need for this style in modern music, a yearning for the melodic vocal styles of yesterday combined with the cool instrumental capabilities of today.

In addition to rock, I'm also currently exploring the fascinating world of choral composition, that is, simulating a "choir" sound with massive overdubbing. You can find an example of this in the "Bash This" section, and in the process gain some idea of my vocal ability.

If this resonates with you (and you share my taste in music), let me know. Maybe you have a sweet instrumental riff that you would like to put vocals to, and I could come up with something extremely cool.

Hi, I'm a bass and drums player, I can play guitar also, but I am not as good as I am in rythm section instruments...

Maybe I can help you with some ideas you have on recording something.

Meanwhile, I listened to you and I have a song which I used to sing (I sing too) which would fit you perfectly, would you give it a try to sing in spanish? even if you don't speak it I can help you with fonetics and some recording, maybe doing something in a different language seems cool to you, just asking

Thanks!

Santi

Singing in Spanish isn't exactly what I had in mind, but if you would like to send me a private message, I'd be willing to at least hear what you have to say.

Thanks for the encouragement, ryanoliver!

I just posted a new vocal refrain today in the "Bash This" forum, if you want to check it out and let me know what you think. It's definitely more toward the Beatles end of the musical spectrum than my first two "choral" offerings, with some airy 6-part harmonies.

I have many interesting ideas. All I need now is some brave, talented soul from among you to share my particular musical influences, and a dazzling collaboration could be born!

I'm based in Singapore, am usually tied down with work (nothing to do with music), but have a strong passion for guitaring, recording and generally making music (not necessarily originals.. but whatever works!). Do you have a basic recording kit at your place? Would love to do music at my end, send over to dub vocals, and then add some finishing touches. Never know how it might turn out, but I'd be more than happy to experiment something of that sort.

Do you do just covers? or originals too?
