Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Download Makeit.wav from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way
I'm currently working on a pop punk inspired tune, this is the pre-production track of the song. Currently I have no access to a drummer and I am horrible at programming drums. I'm looking for someone to program drums to this rough track so I can rerecord the instruments to them. I recorded some vocals via onboard macbook mic to give an idea what I'm going for. Thanks!

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Id PM Boz. He's the best i know of. Ofcourse he has probably already seen this thread and has his thoughts.
I could do a live drum track here for you. Electronic OR acoustic. I have a guy who'd fit this track really well actually. better said this is his cup of tea.
Pretty cool tune so far. Could use a few more drumming cues. Even if its just a couple guitar licks , so that when the drummer or programmer hears the track he knows "ok change coming here".

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Hey Will, Thanks for your advice! I'd be interested in anything, just to help me finishing writing the song. Not looking for anything over the top right now. Do you think you would be able to whip something up? Thanks!

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
even better that there are two Will J's around here. speaking as somebody who has no rhythm and can't program beats, BP has twice done a super job for me and at a very reasonable price. I send him rough idea of what I want with plain-jane drums (just to give an idea of what I'm looking for) and he sends back all the individual drum tracks of a great performance that I can re-record my stuff to.

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up just renting an electronic kit and hammering these out. Here is a preview of what I've accomplished. Keep in mind its just a preproduction track. I will end up retracking these with real drums/drummer as well I'm aware the guitar is in need of a tuning
. Thanks!

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
With a bit of a tune on the vocals (very needed for the style), I think this would be AMAZING.
Maybe 4 bpm faster to keep it moving.
Reminds me of. Mayday Parade. I think this would sound great if you had the equip to record . Massively punchy snare and kick, double tracked hi and lo electrics, bass and triple-tracked to perfection auto-tuned vocals. Would sound pretty good imo.
Do you like Mayday parade?
EDIT: By the way, for this style of music, I don't think I would use a real drummer. Or if you do, I would trigger replace most of the parts. Pop punk is quite produced these days. I'd be surprised if any top pop punk bands used 100% real drummers for the recordings.Last edited by Jeremy Morrissy; 06-09-2012 at 10:30 PM.

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Hey Jeremy, Thanks for the input! Much appreciated! I am a fan of Mayday Parade for sure. All of this was just recorded line in to my macbook to get an idea while writing, I do plan on rerecording EVERYTHING with a real setup. I fell on hard times and sold most of my stuff to keep my head above water, so this is all I had to work with haha. What is triple tracked auto tune? Record the vocals three times, and auto tune each track?

Re: Looking for someone to program a drum track!
Yeah, but not extremely aggressive auto-tune where you hear the it working between note changes (T-pain effect). So 1 vocal in the middle and another panned left at a lower volume and a third panned right with a lower volume.
Hope that helps!
