I am a singer and I need to record my vocals along with some karaoke tracks that I have downloaded using iTunes. I just want to make some recordings so I can market myself to bands that need a singer. I am using Cubase LE 4 with a Tascam US-144mk2 interface. I want to be able to hear my voice clearly thru my mic in my headphones and also hear the karaoke track and make a crisp clear recording of myself. I am new at this type of recording and have not been able to bring it all together. Do I need a wireless monitor to record like this?

Howdy,
Hey...guys...just use karaoke mic here u need mic as well as sound card r available so use it in ur PC then u can record easily with the help of it.
Thanks
How can I isolate my vocals from the karaoke track that I recorded with? I uploaded the karaoke track to one of the channels and clicked on the "S" button for that channel. On the other channel that has my mic input (vocals), I enabled the record button and recored away. It appears to record my voice along with the Karaoke track together. I want to be able to record my vocals by itself while I'm listening to the Karaoke track during the recording process.
Am I doing something wrong?
I like to think that anything is possible. Probability tells me what to try 1st, and how many times to try.
Is this guy still struggling with this?
Till I learned to do it as posted above, I used audacity Now I use Reaper.
I played the backing track song with my Android phone and headphones.
And recorded my vocals with Audacity.
Then Used Audacity to to combine the tracks, That's how I did the "My Old Freind" Bash #1 in my Sig.
Just Having fun!
