Default Any shredders out there?

Greetings,

I'm in the process of recording an album. It's pretty much metal-oriented stuff with a lot of proggish tendancies. I'd like to see if anyone might be interested in laying down a solo or even a couple solos over a few select sections spanning my album. I'm looking for the shredders or unique players out there who's got a bit of talent when it comes to cutting a solo on the fly. Rest assured, I will give complete credit in the liner notes.

Other than the solos (obviously), I'm going to be doing everything else. I still have half of the album left to write, so it'll be a couple more weeks 'til I'd call on anyone interested (or "willing" might be a bit more appropriate). I will send the completed album off for professional mastering and have a couple thousand pressed and copied for selling and promotion, and distribution to labels, film-makers, etc.

To anyone that would do this for me, you'd get a complete copy of the album from me...free of course, including case, colored liner-notes and artwork, and the CD itself. I'll even sign a contract upon mutual approval of the material to prevent any anxiety of being "dooped" going in.

Just a note: The material on this recorded album is not going to be all metal. It will have a lotta clean and subdued stuff to accomodate the breadth of the enitre theme of the album. It's not a concept album per se, but each track on it will lead into the next and will allude to other tracks in some variation on occasion. I'd define this album as a "cohesive" one rather than as a list of impertinent songs or even as a concept album. There's going to be a bit of everything for everyone, within reason, that is. Don't expect any ragtime or bluegrass.

Anyhow, if anyone would like to be a part of this, feel free to let me know, and we shall devise the details. Thanks!

Hi Metal (and everyone else for that matter)

I am new to the forum and saw this.. I wouldn't mind checking out some tracks of yours to lay some lead work too. I can do alot but the one thing I do best is play guitar.

If you are still looking for someone that is.

Rob

Greetings there Theateer. I appreciate your interest. I'd like to send you a scratch exerpt from one of my songs (yet to be recorded) to get an idea of your lead style, if that's ok with you. I do have a day job, so I may not be able to get you the material to review and try until the weekend. If that's at all a go, feel free to to Private Message me your email address so that I can email some material for your review and lead experimentation. Thanks a lot!

Hey metaltyme, sounds like a great idea. I would be interested also, provided I could play something that you could use. I have 26 years of playing and I love shred,so maybe I would have something to offer. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you my e-mail so you can send something my way.

Schweet! I never thought I'd have this many takers! Cool!

Welp, I've been putting together a couple short sections from a couple different songs that I'd like you guys to 'lead' over. Again, I will email those that have PM'd their email addresses to me by Saturday night. Just to remind people, these will be somewhat scratch-tracky, so use them as a canvas to paint yer guys' leadwork. If still interested in going further, just send me your clip(s) via email, and I'll have a listen to them. We'll cross that bridge when we get there I guess.

Note: I'd prefer that ya'll send your clips with the background accompaniment in the mix for context. If/when I ask you guys to send me your amazing leads after the fact, those would need to be as high of a quality WAV file as you can get, so that I can incorporate them properly in my final mixes. So, please make sure you save your projects so that you don't lose the ability to separate your lead from the scratch tracks (I'm sure all you guys are aware of that fact, but I'm just trying to keep things clear, you know?).

Thanks for your interests thus far. I'm honored, and I look forward to working together. Thanks guys!

Peace,

Cool deal man. If you PM me your email address, I'll be happy to send you a bit of material to see what you can do with it. So far out of three particpants, I've only received one reply back with some lead thrown over it. So, there's no rush, and there's plenty of time. Thanks!
