Wow! That's an outstandingly beautiful tune - I'm sure your wife will love it... I'm curious as to know what you're intending to do to finish it. As I was listening, I was thinking that you could bring in some gentle percussion (perhaps congas or similar) during the instrumental solo, then gradually bring in some strings/orchestral-type backing to swell up to an (understated & tasteful) cresendo during the last verse... just a suggestion - probably nothing like you intend, but I couldn't help thinking along those lines, since the tune really drew me in- I was 'actively' listening.... great stuff!

Thanks fHumble and Adam.. I appreciate the comments.. My wife has only heard it briefly so I just got the "I like it, it's good" response but we had just watched the Swell Season Dvd.. kind of a tough act to follow..
I like your suggestions fHumble. I've heard from other musician friends that my songs need more dynamics.. some tension and release,, I just can't seem to get that in my stuff.. I was thinking maybe a kind of rolling drum beat maybe brushes. I like the strings idea too.. I'll have to give it a try..
Thanks again,
Cheers..

Thumbs up Re: Shine

It's a Beautiful song it's sure to make your Wife very happy.
A nice soft bass line and a hint of percussion would be nice.
I wouldn't add to much as it would take away from the personal feel of it.
