Default Old Metal Demo That's A Couple Years Old

This is a semi-old demo of a song I wrote for my band about two years ago (without vocals). The band never transpired into anything as the other guys in the band went different ways (geographically). I'm going to be re-writing & re-recording it in the next week or so, and wanted to see what the general consensus would be on its arrangement and such.

I warn you, I didn't know squat about mixing or recording at the time this was recorded, there are all kinds of muddiness, EQ, panning, and phasing problems. The drums were programmed, poorly, I might add...same for the bass guitars. Both were soft-synthed through Cakewalk TTS-1 (I know). Feel free to bash however you like, but know that I see many of the errors of my way that I've since learned how to do much better, as far as recording & mixing go.

I've got lyrics that fit very well for the song melodically, and the newly recorded version with re-worked drums n' bass will have my vocal debut throughout as well. Any comments are welcome. Thanks guys! Look for the new, polished arrangement soon! I thought it might be cool to exploit how far one can progress in their recording and mixing skills after learning so much from this site in less than a year. Check back soon if interested in that.

Cheers for now,

I'm not a big metal fan... but you might just win me over. I really enjoyed the arrangement. Very well done, right mix. I don't know anything you could do to improve it.

I was just thinking about doing something like this myself. Good Idea.
I may go back even further tho and pull out some 4 track tapes.

I'd go back further if I could, but you'd have to constantly wipe off the blood spewing from your ears...it's just too embarassing to post my first recordings. Let's just say Macgyver would have been proud .

lol, I think a lot of us have been there.
My nick "magno" is taken from my first multi tracker. A PHILIPS-N4506 MAGNOCONTROL.
Magnocontrol always seams to be taken so I shortened it.
Ping Pong anyone?
Now there's a term you don't hear around here very often.
