lookin for critique

Whats up yo. Heres the skinny. I recorded the drums for this tune a while back and never did anything with it because i was too picky to write any words that i could tolerate. So anyway i said screw it and wrote all of the words and melodies tonight just to get something done. Ill put up a better sounding mix tomorrow
I know theres tons wrong but my intentions are to re record this song fully. I might be stuck with the drum tracks though.The drum tracks were recorded on a yamaha md 8 at 44/16 and the dumped into protools at 48/24 with rca cables. Im not saying that there useless, theyve just gone through a bunch of conversions. And 16 bit drum tracks Blah.

Anyway theres sooo much i wanna say but im not going to. Im only going to say that my intentions are to re record this tune to the best of my abilities to find out where i stand as an engineer. and it will also allow for the more advanced recordists to guide me a little better.

I guess right now im looking for advice on what fits or doesnt or hey this parts dumb or that part doesnt go there. Get me? Oh yeah thats my guitar work and vox. Also if you dont wanna bash at all its no problemo. This song is here mostly to compare to my destination mixes.

Dang! Nice Axe playing! voice is really good. The only think I think the song is lacking is a little more presence in the hi-hats/cymbals and I don't notice the kickdrum either. I don't know if it will be more noticeable once you add the bass.

Overall very cool song!

Sounds great man! To my ears I hear the cymbals poppin out every time the gate is triggered on the toms... maybe a little less compression/expansion? And what is the effect on the vocal? I can't place it exactly. And the bridge is great!

Sick song, though I think if you redid it the results could be stunning.

This sounds very good - drums & guitar in particular. Not real keen on the effect on the vocals - is there some slight flanging? Is there any bass on this? I'm listening on my studio monitors with sub & the bass is pretty much MIA - really takes away from the (potential) fullness of the track... great playing BTW.

A little bit of waves doubler and a small room setting of waves trueverb.

whats goin on will! i like this mix actually, the vox dont sound bad to me but maybe instead of the doubler try the waves 2 tap for a delay/thickening sound. the guitar work is sick i like ur guitar work in all the stuff u post. great job will good song bro!
