Can't Slow Down

Hi there.

I've been working on this song and i would like some feedback on the mix.

Bear in mind that:

- The acoustic guitar (made with keyboards) that you hear is going to be replaced by a real one, so don't even bother to judge that;

- The vocal is missing because you would press stop in pain in a matter of seconds. Vocals will be recorded with a real singer.

- It doesn't have compression on the final mix, so it will sound quiet despite being close to clipping


I would like your opinion specially on the (mini) solo guitar. It sounds a little dry to my ears, but i'm a reverb freak, so i may be wrong.

maybe its my headphones but im hearing the snare more than anything. to my ears your kick is being kicked(no pun intended)by your snare. again it could be my headphones thats throwing it off. I do like the sounds your using and i think they work but drop down the snare so everything can shine.

I think the snare is pretty loud my self, but it sounds good so i wanna hear it.

Like the sounds goin on, whole lotta keys for my taste.I know you said some of them will be replaced,guess its a little hard to imagine without actually hearin.

Drums sound good but the hi hats sounded pretty loud to me. Suppose it depends on the speakers.

Solo was good. I thought it was a little too low in the mix.

Liked the place that the rythm guitar sits in the mix. Leaves room for imagination from the listeners perspective which can be really effective.

I just think the bass drum is too deep. Its nice, and it sounds good but maybe we need some natural kick drum sound due to the snare? Perhaps it is just levels?
