Default Scooterlow's: When I see Christmas

I wrote this song in the spirit of what I think of Christmas should mean.

I thought this song was done very well a little rock and roll in the mix.

You have a very good voice ( If that's you singing, Scooter ). I would hit it lightly with a de-esser and that should smooth it right out.

The rest of the mix sounds fine to me. Well played and mixed.

Just using my engineer's hat.

Vulconizer, thank you very much, I wrote, sang and played all the instruments in my home studio. I thought I had used some de-essing but guess it wasn't enough.

It's not bad. I just figure if I can hear it pokin' out at low volume on my teeny tiny puter speakers, it may well be too much at higher gain on better systems.

Knock it down like a db or two and it should be good to go, in my opinion.

Great I'll give it a whirl. I'm still tring to get a better grip on recording vocals. I use an Audio technica 4047/SV mic going into a Presonus Eureka Channel strip with basic vocal settings other than I comp it a bit harder. I never seem to get the transparency I want in my mixes. Guess if I want the big sound I need better gear.

Actually, I think you are doing great. I can't hear anything else I would worry about and would be happy with this mix myself.

No need to worry. Just have fun and keep doing what you are doing.

If this is a home recording forum why would you have "teeny tiny puter speakers" instead of studio monitors hooked up?

I'm at home, instead of at the home of my cousin where our studio happens to be, that's why.

Besides, you have to take into consideration how many non-recordists, non-musicians, and even musicians listen to your music on teenier, tinier, things called Ipod earbuds...
