Default I Still Say Merry Christmas

Hello, this is my first post and an entry into the Christmas Song Contest. The song is called "I Still Say Merry Christmas" and was inspired by people who get upset when you wish them "Merry Christmas" and not, "Happy Holidays." Hope you like it.

You've hit the vocal a bit hard with the compressor. My gut says it's getting hit on the 2 bus (or during masering) and it sounds like a slow compressor as I'm hearing a slight bit of pumping. This is caused by excessive level from the vocal usually and the 2bus compressor / limiter is fighting it.

You've got the vocal up really loud in this one, but I think I'm glad you did. You've got a message and I can tell you want people to hear it. It wouldn't make sense to "tuck" these vocals down into the mix.

I like what you have here. While I agree with 89% of your politics, I get the feeling you have strong convinctions about what you are doing. That excites me. I can't remember the last song I reviewed/bashed where I used the word "convictions".

So overall, great job! Give 'em hell!

Excellent feedback Brandon! You are exactly right about wanting to get the message out, guess it's part of being a child of the 60's. They just did a story today in the Tennessean here in Nashville. (Click here to read)

Really glad I joined. I've already learned a lot from the site. Thank you again for the feedback! You have quite an ear.

As an atheist, I'm constantly bemused why Christians need to feel persecuted. Look, you're 95 percent of the US population; a politician who would state that he's an atheist wouldn't get more than a percent of the vote. Et cetera. So why the victim mentality?

Anyway, it's good song writing and the production sounds fine to me, so you got a high score from me.

Victor.
