The Coventry Carol. Professor Tweed

This is one of my favourite carols. It rarely gets sung these days - maybe the massacre of the innocents is too upsetting for children today. This is the original three part version and I'm singing the tenor part. In parts this line and the chord underlay reminds me of Neil Young's 'Hey Hey My My' and that explains what I've done in the second and third verses. I recorded on an AKAI DPS 16. It's in the same room as my vocal mic ( a Michael Joly modified OKTAVA 219) so unfortunately I've picked up the sound of it chugging away in the background. No reverb was used on this recording although I've panned the vocal a little to one side to try and create space. Guitar is through a fender 1958 deluxe on 12 with a roger mayer voodoo bass on low gain max output as a booster, and is recorded off axis through a beyer m160.
