Default Well I guess it's it's techno so here it is BASH IT!!

Hey ya'll.

I made this song and it's techno with drums. I made the techno song in a few minutes. (Not my best) What I'm focusing on is the drums. That's why they are a little louder. I want to know how they sound whether there is too much reverb or anything that sounds off. I'm just a teenager interested in drumming and recording. Sometimes the drumming a little off, but I'm just checking it out and not really laying down a track. Otherwise I would do 50+ takes, but i think 12is good for tonight. I want to know whether the drums fit in well.

Unfortunately my older brother has all the nice recording stuff at his dorm. I only had 1 mic stand. Thank God for rubber bands. ;-)
I recorded this with 1 audix (on kick) d-6 (would sound worlds better if I had my stand which is in my brothers dorm) and 3 nady $8 (CRAP) mics. This is all going into a small six channel mixer and then... eekkk!!! into my mic input on my computer.

If I was doing this with my brother I would be using a nice audio card and his mbox (made by digidesign) or his 24 channel Allen and heath sound board. I would also be using mic stands.

I have some decent speakers some Bose. I don't like Bose though they are bad quality. They are still worlds better than computer speakers though. (sorry I'm an audiophile) They are way to bass heavy.

I used Acid 7.0 for the putting together I spent about 2hours total doing this.

sorry the drumming is pretty off at times.

Thanks for any replies or responses
and sorry I have to downgrade this to MP3.
Cheers,
matt

Thanks for your post, its a good place to kick ideas around. Take this with as much (or little) salt as you want but IMHO if your aiming at techno drums would'nt you want cleaner, more 'electronic' sounds?

As far as keeping time, (how) do you use a metronome or loop for practice?

Keep doin it for the love of...

Cheers

Cory

Considering the meager setup you used, I think it sounds pretty good! I do agree that the drums could sound more techno, but keep on recording. And I think your brother should lend you some of his gear!
