Default Poppy song

This song isn't super electronic...but I think it fits here more than anywhere else. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

The singer sounds quite good under the effect, but the effect is very irritating.
Keyboards sound ok, I think there's a hammond type thing on the left and a piano on
the right.
The drums have the right beat but the wrong sound for me and i'd like a little reverb on
them too.
Oh, a guitar too.
The song sounds logical, got a structure to it I can follow.
Take that vocal effect off please - what are you thinking?

um...I'm going out on a limb here... I actually think the vocal effect works with every thing else in the song...for what and where it is...
I like the break -
*but*
I do think the song would gain in that either the chorus or verse, or vice versa, had a different vocal application, three minutes straight in and I'm really ear fatigued. And the point of the song is now lost in my preoccupation with the vocal gymnastics and I have no structural reference points for the song.
Or maybe I'm just getting old and I missed nap time today.
: )

Autotune is like a new toy.It suits you voice but to much kills the effectiveness of using it..By the end of the song Im autuned out..lol..
I would select just key words or phrases that might suit this better..I wonder if you took this completely out if would actually sound better...The voice is awesome,no need to take away from it IMHO...

I agree with marino, I think the vocals sound great without the effect...they especially sound out of place during the vocalists stronger/louder sections...reminds me of Jason Mraz.....IMHO

I would apply a de-esser at approx 8k to the vocal.

lol. thanks for the feedback. I was going back and forth on autotune. I thought it kind of fit because it was kind of an electronic song but i can see how it can be distracting and stuff.

I really think autotune has run it's course as an effect. Blame hip hop if you must but it's 2009, the end of the auto tune era. And unfortunately that's what this decade will be remembered for.

Why disguise a talented voice with a strange robotic effect?

Hi - I agree on the auto tune. I think Kanye West just about gets away with it but otherwise I'm not sure I like the sound. The only effected voice sound I really like is Stevie Wonder on his Vocoder/ talk box thing.

If you want to keep the autotune maybe only stick it at certain breaks like around approx 1.00min where you have a bridge kind of thing. An acoustic guitar might add a bit of depth as well.

Great voice though and well put together tune.
