i put this one together about two weeks ago... i can't get it to be any louder, it's a cubase produced peice.... roland drums schecter guitar stupid idiot P.O.S. bass let me know what you think? i've titled it "the notion picture soundtrack" the idea behind the title is, kinda like whatever visual you get outta this in your head when you hear it? it's kinda repetative lol |

First impression is "great beginning" Second impression is " is that all?" I was hoping for a build up there was a slight build up in the percussion line. In 6/8 time may a suggest building up by a busier bass line. busier not as in competeing with the hi hats but span more octaves or the ocassional run down leading into the next repeat. Only my opinion but maybe it could help you out. ps title makes sense, my imagination was thinking "what movie could this be the start of" and i got an image of a slow pan of a concrete jungle with a bridge in the foreground... |

yeah see... the original drums for this song is like 1:20 lol i really messed around with repeats for this tune i'd like to do better fills leadin up like you said.... i do need to have a heavier movin bass line i've heard this from friends... i'm really glad to hear the title worked out, i imagine a similar scenario, san fran was in my head |

+ : good sound love the retro ambiance (there's sme vinyl distortion simulation in this tune, isn't it ?) - : REALLY repetitive I think you should add more musical phraes, maybe some instruments, maybe a voice and stuff. So yeah, for a few bars, it's really really good, then it get's boring IMHO. About the title, I'm seeing a helicopter-view of a south american city, like rio or buenos aires, during the afternoon. EDIT : Yeah I forgot to mention that I'd see it at the begining of the movie too :-) Last edited by Dinaiz; 03-19-2009 at 10:16 PM. |

I like it. I like the mood of anticipation that this sets up. I agree that it is a good movie soundtrack type music in that it suggests a number of interesting visuals and a sense that something interesting is heating up. Maybe you could build on this to take it to higher levels or different directions. I'd love to experiment with adding a cool guitar solo to this. With your permission, maybe I'll give that a shot.
