It would have been nice if the panning effect hit on the beat

You got a pretty good start as some cool techno but the panning doesn't add anything to the material. I'd do much less panning if any at all and focus on the composition.

really cool but 40 seconds of the panning effect was enough. Develope after the 40 secs then by all means bring it back later when its all in full swing

Thanks for the help! I'm trying to find a good synth to throw in. I was actually wondering if any of you have messed around with the Halion Symphonic Orchestra? I had a demo that came with Cubase 5, but it failed to install and I have yet to hear back from Steinbergs support. From the Demo wav files they have included with the DVD it sounds very realistic. but I digress....

To the song I have going here, I've been bashing my head against a creative barrier that I just can't seem to breakthrough. I'll certainly post an update when I know where I'm going with this....

Sometimes all it takes is putting it down for as long as you can. A few days, a week, or a couple of weeks depending on your time and patience.

Come back to it after taking a break and you may get through that barrier.

Right now you may be too close to this song.

first, i definitely agree on the panning comments. either shorten the amount of time that the loop is played or take out some elements and decrease its volume so that it doesn't command so much attention and move forward with the song, which brings me to my second point.

second, not sure what type of song you are going for but i'm assuming its a techno-esque or breakbeat type song based on the drums that come in. so i suggest throwing in a crash cymbal after the intro loop and have just the drums play or melody play or something.

besides that i think it's still too early in the song to really give you any other comments
