It was a slow start, but finally took off. If you are in love with the intro, keep it. There is something to exploding into the real thing too. I tend to go the louder.

Youv'e got an automated filter on the lead melody gadget. I feel distracted a bit by the way it is engaged on the second line of the melody. It takes emphasis off the actual melody in my opinion.

If you were going for what I call a "call and response" you could achieve that with an entirely different sound....maybe your synth on the first one and maybe a sax on the second line....who knows!

I'm sure if you asked 100 people about the "chorus" thing you'd get 100 different responses, but I think you overdid it a hair with that automated filter.

Otherwise, it's good stuff. Good job, dude.

The mix is good. My thoughts are related to my own efforts in electronic music, so please take this as my own self-evaluation. I believe that Sibelius is going to help me over come the tendancy to write 4/4 ostinato based music. I love the machine sounds, but to base three minutes of music (or in my case sometimes 20 minutes) on one set of sounds, might be pushing it. My current goal is to use timbre surprizes and tempo changes to achieve truly interesting music. I thought looping composition would do more for me in this regard, but I have found it limiting between its standard meter walls.

That class conflict story took me back, once in college I had to choose between theater rehearsal or a chance to hear and meet Segovia! But I was a lead in the show, so how would it look to the other cast members if I bailed? I should have chosen Segovia. I think you made the right choice with guitar. At least you can make up the ear training, and yes, movable "do" is important.

Cheers!

Ger
