Your Favorite Vocal Mics?

Hey dudes,

I'm building a new wizard and I'm trying to get a feel for everyone's favorite vocal mics. Then I'll bust then up by price and utilize them in the Wizard.

I'm a big fan of the TLM103.

KSM27 is a ridiculous value.

I know it's boring, but I've used SM58 for all live performances and they are top knotch. SM57's for a good standard all-round utility mic.

There are so many mics around nowadays, this is gonna become a ridiculous list. My main vocal mic is an AT2020 (don't laugh)

Depends on the singer and the song, for me, but I do like SM57's as a good go-to mic if nothing else is getting it for you. You can count on a decent sound with one in a lot of situations.

Blue Babybottle.

Rode M3. Have to watch it though on vox. It doesn't hide much of anything in my experience, which can be real good or real bad depending on the vocalist.

There are a LOT more I want to try out, so this is a cool idea.

For live situations, I'll agree on the SM58. Built like a tank, has a presence bump that helps vox stand out, and it has decent rejection for floor monitors.

I'm not laughing, 'cos mine is the same. Quality on a budget.

The shure 58, the MXL 990, The berhinger B1, The AKG Perception 200, The CAD Equitek e100 for good value low price but ok sounds... The Neumann M 147 and TLM 103, The CAD e300 Great mic for the price! and the AKG C 414 B-XL II For some really good mics under $3000.00 These are some of the only ones a can remember that I liked. I would have to say so far the CAD e300 is the best for the money.

SM58. Great mic, especially for rock/metal. I use it all the time. I also have an Oktava Mk319, which works quite well on some voices.
