Adam S2A's - Fucking sweet! These are my main monitors. KRK Rokit 6 - noisy with no load, but they seem to have a nice tight sound which seems to be pretty true (haven't used them much) Tannoy Active Reveal - alright, probably better than the Rokits. I haven't used them in ideal locations so wouldn't really like to comment too much. Alesis M1 Mk2(?) - I don't like em. We were supposed to get Genelecs, but no one could supply them. The Adams were offered in their place. I love these things. I use headphones a lot too. Yeah, I know... everyone hates to do it, but its the nature of where I'm located makes it necessary. I use Sennheiser HD 580's and they're really nice. Bear in mind that we don't do much stuff that requires a lot of low end. I did mix Funky Dory using a combination of the Adam's and the Sennheisers. I think it turned out okay. Rich |

I thought your mixes of Funky Dory sounded totally pro, dude. After playing guitar for 9 years, I have never bought an acoustic. I've wanted a acoustic guitar for about 8 year now, but I refuse to buy a cheapy. Anyway, I've been eye balling the mega expensive ADAMs speakers for a while now and I've considered saving for years to get the best. Yes, I know, you really need a great control room to hear the difference in a great monitor, but it seams like 50% of all big boys use these ADAMs speakers. That's an overwhelming endorsement. If you were paying money out of pocket, would you pick up the ADAMs, Richiebee? In other words, are these monitors going to drastically improve mixes done on them when compared to monitors that are more like $1000 a pair or so? Brandon |

What would be great is for me to compare them to the monitors you're using, which, honestly were on my shopping list when we ended up with the Adams. I couldn't get to hear the HR824's unfortunately, so I dont have that comparison. In fact, I don't have much to compare at all - we have very low stocks of high end equipment in this city - there's just not enough business for them to stock a lot of choice. So that's out. Yes, I would be very comfortable plonking down my own cash on a set of Adams - in particular these S2A's. I used some bigger Adam's while I was waiting for these to come in, and they didn't suit my room, but for nearfield monitoring, I think the S2A's are very accurate, and have a wonderfully tight sound. A couple of local engineers (who really make great albums!) have been in and tried them, and have been equally impressed. Rich |

| I am listening through Event TR5's w/ an M Audio SBX sub. I really like that set up and think my mixes are translating fairly well. It took some time to set the level on the sub correctly, but I think I have it pretty accurate for now. |

Events really rock. I think the 20/20bas would fit the bill for you perfect, and they go used for less than $400/pair some times (for a powered speaker). The Event precision8 are great too but a bit more "hi fi" |

Would you say the 20/20bas fits this description? If there is another speaker that will act like spandex on my 400hz fat ass, then that's what I want. Brandon |

I use PMC TB2s . really great british speakers ; they're passive and need a real good amp, hafler or even a bryston if you can afford it. ATC are great too, so are Earthworks sigma Dynaudio are still pretty good. ADAM are very nice. Im not a huge fan of the genelecs and really don't like the mackies. but I guess all that is pretty personal |

Man, these ADAMs monitors are pretty damn amazing! Of course, they had better be for $5,300! |
