Default Vocals too Raw

Hey, I have an M-Box 2 connected to my Macbook Pro, and whenever I record vocals, the output sound is terrible. It's very clear, but it's just "raw" sounding. The weird thing is, is that it sounds perfect while you're recording whatever phrase in the headphones.

I'm not sure what else to say to help you guys help me, but let me know if there's anymore information you'd need from me. Thanks.

Can you post a sample?

Compression can do wonders. Mild distortion can even give some life to a dead vocal take. Maybe it just needs some reverb... or EQing.

I'm not sure what "raw" means in this case, but it's safe to say that the dry, unprocessed coming out of the microphone seldom has much to do with the sound that ends up on the finished mix.

There are many tools for the job: COMPRESSION, eq, reverb, delay, doubling, chorus, distortion, etc.

As Richiebee recommended, please attach a clip.

Maybe your mic preamp gain is too loud try to lower the gain while recording your vocal.
