Default Vocal reverb

I am using Cubase LE and want to add reverb to the vocal track.. just wondered if anyone knows of a decent free plugin for this.. the reverb that comes with cubase LE is not worth much...

Also any tips on vocal reverb would be appreciated.. thanks..

Well, Classic Reverb by Klaerhus is decent. I find GlaceVerb sometimes useful for special effects.

I guess one of the perks of my Lexicon Omega was the Lexicon Pantheon Plug-in that came with it. I've not found a better reverb plugin so far.

I assume that this is one of them that is inlcuded in Cubase SX3. If so, it can be really cool on snare drum. The crappier reverbs tend to sound cool on snare drums.

I usually use Waves Rverb. I know there is better stuff out there (probably even better free stuff) but there are just so many VST plugins out there that it gets tough to take the time to find the ones that really stand out.

How does a crappy reverb differ from a better one? I wouldn't know the difference, hah.

Generally by sounding natural and real. Real reverb has several stages, and many influences. Conventional digital reverbs use algorithms to emulate those influences. The level of detail that goes into these algorithms and the study of real spaces will have some impact on the final result. Personally I prefer convolution reverb which uses samples rather than algorithms.

Interesting to know about that convolution reverb...does the full version of Cubase have something like that? I think saw Voxengo Pristine Space packaged along with a cakewalk bundle. If I end up with Cubase though, I might look into getting that Voxengo Pristine Space

The version that comes with Cakewalk is what used to be marketed by Voxengo as an "LE" version. I'm not sure what the difference is between that and the full version of Pristine Space.
