Hey I'm about to mix my vocals my song and want to get the same type of effects for my vocal as this. Can anyone tell me what this person used?

It sounds like a standard double tracked vocal. The Eq and the timbre of his voice are whats giving it the style you like.

try playing around with a compressor on the vocals, not too much, a little goes a long way in my experience. also, when EQing try cutting the frequencies you dont like in the vocals instead of boosting the ones you do like. and definitly layer a few tracks of the vocals, some with just the key words. hope that helps -z-

Write some volume automation for the vocal track. You can get pretty close just by eyeballing the density of the waveform.

Im not positive here but...dry is a term usually used for the reflections or lack of reverb, echo, delay on a track...effects that give you depth or wet the track. EQing has little to do with that...Layering ur tracks can sound like a reverb or delay...but this method is used to bring out a bolder and thicker vocal...having little to do with being dry. If u want a "flat" sounding vocal which sounds like crap...haha just zero your pre and channel eq's. Let me know if this was helpful...or if I need to have a different outlook on this!! Thx

Try this. Solo the track and play in a loop. Narrow the Q on the second EQ range and boost it all the way. Sweep it up and down until you find an obnoxious peak and cut that freq about 2.5. Widen the Q about half way, less widening high, more on lower freqs. Repeat for the rest. Set the high pass shelf filter for about 100 Hz with about a 12dB slope. Things will suck less.

Thank you for all the advice...its been helping me a lot! Lastly, theres this one thing I don't quiet seem to get...How do people have such smooth loud vocals when they record at home? Like it sounds as if they recorded in a studio with their vocals very smooth yet a bit louder than the beat
