Default Superior Drummer 2.0 In Action!!!!!!

Well, here is a song I recorded today. And here is DFH 2.0 in action with NO EXTERNAL PROCESSING. This is done within the program. There is no bass on this track yet. No vocals either, some guitar is missing. I just wanted to let all the people who. There is NO EQ AT ALL on this track aside from high passes on the guitar channels.

(New MP3 Attached)

I'm glad to see that SOMEBODY got their Superior Drummer 2.0 in!!! (I FINALLY got an email from Toontrack and according to UPS I should have mine on Friday).

GREAT! This type of sound takes lots of work with compressors and such to acheive with DFHS, but it appears that Superior 2.0 has it right out of the box. If this sound isn't compressed with just enough of an attack to let the peaks through, then it sounds like it was done during tracking. Maybe it was just a tracking, tuning, or who knows type of thing.

I was thinking about ordering the Steven Slate drums to layer with the Superior Drummer 2.0, but it may not need it.

While I thought that DFHS sounded great, this sound only worked really well for certain styles. I'm excited to see they have expanded their horizons.

Get the $329.00 dollar pack, you won't look back. I'm going to do some layering the program with the slate samples as soon as I get my ass back in the studio (when I track guitars/bass myself, I usually get better results as a whole).

There are actually factory presets for different kinds of music, this one was a preset "guillotine" which I assume was for hardcore, hence the super dry sound.

The transient designer and compressor/built in effects suite do wonders for the sound!

+1
Mine will be a my house on Friday as well. I feel like I have been waiting forever.

That's great that they are providing processing presets to work from. Your drum track sounds good.

I was going to ask how the built in effects were. I usually have my preferences for compressors and stuff, but if I'm programming I usually don't want to deal with compressors. I want to make music.

I've always wanted a Transient Designer. The possibilties with those things are badass. I got to play around with the hardware version at Wagener's Recording Workshop. I wonder how this plugin compares with the original.

Okay mine came in today. I played with it for about an hour.

Holy death! These fixed EVERYTHING I didn't like about DFH Superior 1.0. This thing is AWESOME! It's already got the mid-scooped style drum sound I love. I love the little preset mixer thingies. While I never gravitate towards presets, it's nice to push a button and be in the ballpark of where you want to me.

This thing has TONS of attack which I really like for my hard rock and metal type of stuff. The included compressor is very good on the drums and the EQ seems solid too.

I ordered the Steven Slate Drums yesterday and I'm wondering if that was necessary. Oh well, we'll find out I guess. I'm very impressed with Superior Drummer 2.0. It has this natural and badass sound at the same time. Great product!
