Stock Apple Ipod Earbuds

I got to thinking after reading another thread. While a stereo sounds 20 different ways if you stand 20 different places in the room and every person in the world has a different stereo or different speakers in a different room, there is one playback medium that is more popular than ever: Stock Apple Ipod Earbuds.

So, I guess I need to start checking my mixes on stock Apple Ipod earbuds. I have no intentions of getting an Ipod anytime this decade. Can you get these on Ebay? The MUST be the stock earbuds and not some upgraded thing.

I can't imagine iPod earbuds sounding much different to any other earbuds. They do seem to be grossly overpriced though, so maybe there is some secret in there somewhere... or maybe its just cos they're Apple.

You may be right. I know that headphones differ dramatically from model to model so I just assumed that this was the case with ear buds. I hate headphones and earbuds both so I'm a little out of my element with this consumer crap.

Ive got a pair I will send you for nothing. I use sennheisers canal phones because I wear them under my helmut on my motorcycle and they block out ambient sound.

The apples are unused. I am in Australia so if you dont need them in a hurry just let me know where to send them.

Apple store in almost every mall has them but they're really not that different from the "budding" competition. Earbuds do sound different though - it depends how you position them in your ear or how far you're willing to stick them. I personally prefer to check with something cheap and crappy but still a speaker - say a $15 Radio Shack car speaker will do well for that test and also will show you how your mixes sound in mono, which you should be checking anyway.

You've got that right. That's exactly why I want to get these stupid ear buds. I hate headphones. That's exactly why I want to try this route.
