Default In search for that electronic vocal...

I was wondering if anyone in here knows what type of effect is used on songs such as "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap. If theres a specific plug-in that emulates that type of polyphonic effect on vocals please share. I'm currently working with Pro Tools LE (doesn't seem very popular in this world of VST and DirectX individuals, i don't blame y'all ) so anything in RTAS or Audiosuite would be really helpful.

In an interview with the singer, Hide and Seek was made with a harmonizer, not a vocoder
"Out of the corner of my eye i spotted my harmonizer (a little box that you hook up to a keyboard via midi so you can play in the notes you want your voice to transpose to in real time). I hadn't yet written anything with this piece of gear but had always wanted to do an a cappella on this album. I powered it up and connected my microphone into the box and recorded the output to my minidisk. The first thing i sung/played and four minutes later was and is the melody and harmony of the final version."

I've never used a harmonizer before. I've used pitch shifters, but that isn't exactly the same thing.

I'd do a search for free harmonizer plugins (in your format) and see where that gets you.
