I record mostly pop, jazz, r&b. I use midi drum tracks. I've just gotten a program to turn those drum parts to .aiff (WAV) files. My question is: What are some good "rules of thumb" for processing drum and percussion parts? e.g., When should I eq and/or compress, use reverb, etc.? Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
