i wasn't sure where exactly to post this so i'll try here, i'm sorry if it's the wrong section. i'm mixing my bands demo, i have a pentium 4 based PC with 1 gb and i'm using CUBASE SX 1.0 with Waves.Diamond.Bundle.v5.0 and i'm using REQ 6 bands equalizer on all channels. i'm trying to get my recording to sound like this band, mostly drums and guitar here is the band: YouTube - Strapping Young Lad - Dire/Consequence here is my band with my recording: band1big any suggestions is well accepted, even if i have to get a VST plugin for cubase thats fine, as long as i can make my recording sound as close to this band as possibile. thanks in advance. |

Its pretty good. I think though u shoudl try getting some thicker guitar sounds. Try doubling up tracks on guitar. Do the game guitar part over again and the combination of the two will make it sound bigger and thicker.

It's a good mix, but I agree Matt, the guitars need some fattening up. The tone is a bit flat, recording more guitar tracks over it would probably be the best solution. If that's not possible tweak the eqs some more. There's a lack of presence and body in the mix. Also maybe turn down the vocals a bit. mark |
