Hi, I am a newbie here and i have a problem regarding connecting my PHILIPS SBC 490/03 Dynamic microphone to my computer.I was told that its a good quality mic but the jack is too big to fit into the provison provided in my realtek soundcard.I think i will need a third party component to connect that mic to my computer. I have added the photograph of that mic for your reference. Thank you. |

You will need a 1/4" female mono to 1/8" male mono adapter. Link: Hosa GMP 113 Audio Adapter, Mono 1/4" Female to Mono 1/8" Male | Full Compass Radioshack sells them for a couple of dollars. |

I googled the mic, but couldn't find any information on it, probably due to it being 10-12 years old. It's looks like a low end dynamic mic, probably suitable for basic recording into your realtek sound card. What instruments are you looking to record ? |
