I particularly like the idea about feeding the DI signal back into the amp. Probably never would have thought of that but it sounds like a great idea!

Great job, dude!

You've got that right! I had a guy come up to me last week who said he didn't like the tone I got on X record 5 years ago.

Shit! Try writing a book that people will be reading for years! The sing #1 reason this thing isn't done is because of that fact that it has to be dead on.

I love the Internet and the things that can be gleaned there as well as the fact that there are communities like this where experts are willing to share their experience. Way to go, lads!

Thank you...

And that is why you must put out an e-book with FREE updates...

Or the beauty of revision.

I'm sure your book will do well.

Such great advice!!!!

Every band I've worked with has at least one guy that says "This is what I want to do, record." And they look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them to simply just do it!

I never took a class, lesson, or workshop for the first two years I started recording. I just read everything the internet would let me read. I tried every trick I could. Read reviews before buying one single piece of gear. And studied until I found myself comfortable behind the board.....months after I already started making a little coin from recording local bands.

I've been at it for only 3 years now. I make my living recording, mixing, and mastering music. Publishing, sound design, and foley as well.

Just now have I started to take some classes and get additional guidance on things. It's not hard to do this recording thing, it's not easy either! I back all the above advice 100%!!!! Even when I didn't know what I was doing and was guessing right and just using my ears; I always remained confident, not cockey, but confident. Then when the band was out the door for the day I'd spend 23 hours researching, exparamenting, and doing whatever it took to make it work.

Great advice!!!!!
