Hey, I've only ever used our 603s as drum overheads, accoustic guitar and combined with other mics on guitar cab. I was wondering if anyone knew how they sounded on toms. I've heard they sound like the Oktava MK-012 and supposedly the Mk012 is great on toms. Anyway, I know the term "great" and other similiar terms are subjective but I wanna know your opinions on it. -Deng |

If they sound anything like the MK012s, I'll give them a thumbs up in most cases! Brandon |

They're ok on most stuff but they are not as good as the Oktava's. The Oktava's have great capsules and shitty electronics which can be upgraded into one hell of a mic!. The 603's have a shitty capsule and "great" electronics... not quite the same thing but many people like them.... they definitely work but it all depends on your frame of reference and of course what you like.... shameless plug... I have 2 of the 603's I'd like to sell if anyone is interested... barely used... like twice. email dach@ec.rr.com if interested chuck |
