Default Mixing for iPhone & iPod Touch

Hi!

I'm in on this game-project for this platform, and was wondering if anyone has ever done any mixing for these pieces of hardware? Any tips?

I mean - you could obviously plug in a pair of headphones, but what about if you want the mix to sound it's best on the built in speaker. Anyone have any master EQ laying around that I can apply?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

If it is just to address the built in speaker you are going to want to roll off the low end. My concern is you will be limiting the audio quality for the sake of meeting the needs of a speaker. I would think you would be better served in getting as high a quality audio as possible and let the user figure it out. I know that if I mix a record for a band and it is played on AM radio the quality is not as good as a CD but I am not going to sacrifice and adjust the sound to meet the needs of AM.

If you are set on accommodating the speaker then roll off below 150Hz or so should do the trick. But remember that many gamers use the iPod earbuds which have a better frequency response than the speaker does. I still say mix it like a pro and don't worry about the equipment it is played on.
