Default looking for an 808 drop tutorial

so ive been experimenting and searching for a tutorial on how to create an 808 drop

i have yet to be able to find one, so if someone can point me in the direction of a tutorial, or explain to me how it is created, this would be great

Well you don't really "create" one.
It's performed by synth and drum machines to emulate the original Roland Tr-808 kick.
You can probably find free samples of the sound online somewhere and mold it to fit pitch and timing. Otherwise, you would need to purchase software to create the sound or a drum machine like the Boss DR 670, which I own and comes with 3 different styles of bass drops.

yea i know about the original 808

im running cubase sx3 and suggestions about what software i could use to "mold" as you said?

There are plenty of free 808 wavs on the Internet. Do a search and you'll find what you need.

If you can find a wav on the net like Tony said, you can use Cubase's pitch shift and time stretch to use for your mix.
Cubase LE and LE4 has these features and a processing tool, I'm pretty sure SX3 would too.
