My 1st computer was an Atari 800. It was great. Then an Atari ST and an Amiga 1000 a year later. They were great.

Leopard is 64bit.

Plus, software has not been written to totally take advantage of 4 core processors.. So the power they offer remains untapped (to an extent.) If you actually took a serious look at the figures, you'd notice that an eight core processor offers literally NO increase in performance.
I'm not going to argue with you on that. I hate Macs. Actually, I don't hate Macs, but I do hate Apple, and wouldn't buy one because of their philosophy. I use them at work because I have to. At home I use a PC.

My computer consists of an intel Q6700 clocked up to 3.6Ghz, an X48 MB with 4gig of 1200mhz DDR3, 512meg video card and as much storage as I like. I use this as a network host to a Very small beowulf performance cluster using just one other node, which is a Pentium 3 clocked at 2.4ghz, and is my DSP processor. The nodes are networked using a very high bandwidth ethernet - no latency.
I'm pretty sure the Mac Pro I mentioned would whoop this machine's ass.

Snow Leopard will be here next year...

Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Snow Leopard

It will be a true SUPERCOMPUTER OS for sure. I love my Mac's and my PC's are just doorstops now... If you like your PC that's great. You should love your stuff... not just use it because you can't afford a Mac. With Mac's computing is fun again. No Spyware, ADware, pop-ups everwhere... The Internet is a joy to use. I haven't used Anti-Virus stuff in years... I know it's "just a matter of time" like everyone says before the script kiddies start hackin' in but so far - so good. Keep em expensive so they can't afford one!
