Default Lexicon Lambda problem

I posted this under 'lexicon reviews' but the interface doesn't allow for any give & take, all they want are REVIEWS. So here is the question again.

My Lexicon audio interface behaves weirdly. At random times it will not work properly but will emit only static. My son couldn't get it to work at all on his PC or Mac. I tried it in my Cubase and it was fine, but then I tried it in my old CoolEdit. It recorded a track...then the next track would only play static. In stereo. My tracks are Mono.

I checked my cable connections, etc. If there was a cable that was bad, it wouldn't have recorded any tracks at all. Same with a setting.

Any ideas?

This sounds interesting. I have to assume that the audio interface works properly if it works Cubase. What is the driver being used in CoolEdit?

Cool Edit wouldn't let me install a driver. All it has is a setting for "device order".

What's weird is that it record a few tracks fine. And I think last fall when I first got it, it worked in Cooledit just fine.

Hmm. Unless you are doing something VERY weird, this sounds like a problem specific to Cool Edit. Unfortunately, I've never used it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I do have it set in device setup to Lambda asio, but playback still crackly. I used to use a different driver, asio multimedia I think before I had to reinstall the lambda. Would a different driver help? Multimedia has no sound now though.
