| Like I said i'm new to this, but when I do record to my computer it has a very muffled sound. I am transferring the tracks from the DP-01 onto my computer, when I transfer it, it transfers as a .wav file and I just import that that as a sample on Magix. The it works "ok" but the quality of the file is lower after I transfer it. I am open to suggestions given the gear that I have on how I should be doing my recording. Thanks For ANY help that is given.

Is there an option to record with some kind of software directly to you computer? If not is there an option to transfer these files back to the DP-01? What software are you listening to it with once it is transfered? Does this software have an eq like windows media player? if so set it to flat or zero on all frequencies. If it is Musicmatch for the love of god try something else. I am not sure about winamp or others but it sounds like you need better audio software on your pc... try this it is free... Audacity: Download

I'm surprised the quality of the files are changing. They shouldn't. Can you confirm that the sample rate and bit depth are in tact. I've got a feeling your sample rate has been messed with. Brandon |

Does your standalone recorder use wav files? Some standalones use their own proprietary format and need to be converted to wav. If this is the case, this conversion could be at fault. I wonder if something is wrong or if convertering always sounds bad. Do you know if other users of your recorder have been able to transfer files to their computers without any loss of quality? I guess my question is: why are you not recording directly to the computer? This sounds like you are adding a weak link to the process. Like I was asking before is there an option to record directly to the hard drive on your PC? If so I would do that.
