Can you give us more details? Where do you see this?

Analog in is for analog inputs. Analog out is analog outputs. Analog in to analog out is the internal signal chain from the input to the output.

Maybe about quantity of noise introduced between the in and out, I would guess... depends on the context. Or perhaps amount of harmonic distortion?

If it is regard to connecting things together you want the output of one piece of equipment to send it signal to the input of the next piece in the chain.

im writing my final essay on measuring the latency from determined audio consoles and digital consoles in their mixing and audio interface modes conected to a given computer and a digital audio workstation , and that would be through analog in analog out.
