if you listen to the vocals on the chorus here, they sound magical. they sparkle. is it an oral exciter?? or just EQ and a realy smooth voice? how can i get my chorus to sound like this. double, tripe, etc?? panning? any ideas are appreciated. thank you at: 0:57 YouTube - Tamia - Last first Kiss |

Hey, listened to the clip (my god, how loud is that bass sound :-), but I guess thats genre-specific). To me it definately sounds like a layer of vocaltakes (can’t tell how many, but I guess 4 to 6 layers), panned out across, I definately hear a whisper (or two) in there. This is a known trick; let the singer whisper the lyrics and use this to give the vocals a kind of sparkly, eerie quality. Use EQ (HP and add some air @ 10 Khz) and really compress that vocal buss.... Oh yeah (obvious understatement); a good singer helps too! Hope this helps.
