I don't know much about the latest computer simulator's and all the rest of it. However, as anything in life it's difficult to get $1,000,000 recording's from minimal cost equipment unless you are very, very creative and have something there to begin with. I guess the fun come's in trying to do just that and learning in the process how to do cool stuff. The only experience I've had in recording was a few year's back at Motown in Detroit and they just mic'd my acoustic Gibson and Voila', Dynamite sound, of course the equipment was top end that a lot of us (me) can't afford but there is no substitute for that kind of gear. That my new friend's is MVVHO. I am really hoping that if I continue to read this forum, maybe I can learn from your expertise. Brandon thank's man I really appreciate your thread.

billycat1965, how do's the Tascam work for as I've kinda been thinking about something just to put some track's down mainly for writing not really to beat all end all, know what I mean? By the way I never mentioned my gear. I play strat's custom shop master built w/ custom fat 50's and my other strat will have the stacked coil vintage noiseless, my amp is Fender Vibro King w/212 extension cab ,cable's are Evidence Audio (very important believe or not) , Furman powered board loaded w/ Keeley compressor and Keeley modded Boss Tr2, TS808 and Boss BD2. Also, TC Electronic's Reverb, EH Deluxe Memory Man, Dunlop Crybaby, Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, ISP TECH Gstring Decimator, all George L patchcord's and my most prized possession , my B.K. BUTLER TUBE DRIVER. Bk is the one that make's everything else sound thick and buttery. Thank's BK

Acoustic, you are absolutely correct, however since I am a novice I will have to experience it. I do know what you mean in that I experiment with my gear to come up with new sound's all the time. Geronimog

it works very easy, the only draw back is no mixdown track, you have to hook it up to a tape deck then record the whole song that way, other than that its very simple,i got mine on ebay for $40.00 plus shipping.

I'm trying to put something together to record at home as I have a sound proof room that is my beginning. I want something that isn't too complicated but I can do sound on sound , ping pong track's , mixdown without having to spend too much time just trying to figure out how to work the system. Any idea's about how to begin , anybody? I would prefer to try to mic stuff as opposed to direct in to the board or computer as the case may be. Maybe as I get better at recording I can try other thing's, but for now just straight up, nothing fancy.

Acoustic, thank's for the input. How easy are the Boss recorder's to work. As you know I'm looking for something that is not so complicated that I'm going to be spending all my time trying to record instead of recording. If you have tried one or owned one can you give me some info. Don't worry about telling me what to do ALL your input is appreciated because I'm a novice and need all the help I can get. Thank's..............geronimog
