Focusrite Saffire Pro 40

I've recently had bad luck with the Alesis IO 26 audio interface and I was looking at the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Does anyone have suggestions? I'm just looking for something rock solid.

What problems were you having with the Alesis? What type of recording you going to be doing? Full bands, projects, acoustic, etc.

All types of recording, live and multitracking. There's an issue with the compatiblity of the unit and my pc I believe. I get popping, drops and random reboots at every recording. I've called tech support tweaked the parms everything. I work in the IT industry so I'm familiar with hardware/software. Using Adobe 3.0 with Asus/MB, 2gb ram latest service packs on Win XP pro.

I just bought a saffire pro 40 2 weeks ago and have not been able to load the software that runs the saffire mix control. I have a Vista64 machine running Sonar 8 beautifully.
The software is not digitally signed by Microsoft so it wont load. I tried unsigning in the cmd window and still nothing. I have been in contact with Focusrite 2 days after purchase and they have no solutions. So it is most likely going back. I have read in many blogs that the software is not stable.
