Hello everyone! I’m from the Northeast of England, I have been producing music and mixing music for a few years now and am currently setting up a mobile recording company. Jus curious as to whether any of you guys have any knowledge of location recording? I am seeking information relating to licensing and insurance. I don’t want to ring insurance companies without some information so they don’t con me. Finally below is a list of equipment I am thinking of purchasing, would this be a good selection of hardware? And is it possible to us this system as a Pa system? Or will I need further equipment? Hope its not to much to ask from my first post! Please help! Thanks for your time! Well as far as insurance I am in Canada but my studio insurance covers me if I take my equipment into the community. As for hardware I other than the krk's, the 57's and 58's I personally go a whole different direction. I use an ADAT HD because it is bullet proof and needs to be for live. If you let me know your budget I can give better advise. Cheers

Hi there paul, My budgets ruff £2,500, not sure what the exchange rate is but il guess at around 4500 canadian dollars. I thought that mixer interface would be good as for its connectivity with cubase. I will be teaching small groups of students about usic production also so im not sure how this effects using a ADAT HD. I was quoted £1,000 for my insurances which wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be! thanks for your help! Jonny |

Ok i will look into it. I am used to recording in studio environments so i thought using a laptop in a setup would make things easier, I have limited experience used ADAT's apart from sampling some sounds at home. |

They aren't really ADATs anymore. They are ADAT-shaped boxes - actually hard disk recorders. There are smaller stand-alones that would fit the bill nicely.
