An acquaintance lent me a home recorded c.d. to copy. I have no information about the original medium, it may have been audio cassette. Viewing the .wav file in CoolEdit reveals assymetric waveforms on both left and right channels. It's as if there was a d.c. component present, the positive excursions are noticeably greater than the negative excursions. I haven't seen this before and wonder what type of distortion this is. Does anyone know? Last edited by syncopator; 07-12-2007 at 09:34 PM. |
