Default Delicious practice space recording

So my band recently got kicked out of our awesome practice space, which was in an old church. I had been dreaming of recording in there until we suddenly got the axe. anyway, the new space is 10x15 storage units with cinderblocks on two sides and aluminum (or something) on the other two. we've managed to get carpet on the floor, and are planning on hanging blankets on the walls. im just wondering if there's anything specific that can be done (drum placement, mic placement etc.) with respect to recording drums. the good news is that the music is noisy myspace-core type stuff, so i can live with a certain amount of lo-fi-ness, but is there going to be any chance of minimizing early reflections and generally making it not sound like a concrete box?

Not without changing it to some other kind of box.

You need to decide if this is for practice or for recording. Are you recording things individually or the band together? I wouldn't want carpet on the floor. I'd want plywood if I had a choice. Blankets will knock down the concrete sound, but that puts you in tricky spot because too many blankets will make it sound dull and boring. (The same goes for the carpet). The room isn't very big so that's another problem.
