Default classic drum songs

Hey folks,

I have a thread below looking sort of explaining what I'm doing here, but if you don't read that let me explain. I'm producing an imaging pack for radio broadcasts on classic rock stations and one of the images that the voice over guy and I are working on is "The Drums that make you go Numb". with maybe five famous drum hooks in a 20 or 30 second time frame. I'd love to hear some ideas of what you think are the most quintessential classic rock drum beats of all time are! I keep you updated on what 4 or five we end up using as well. Thanks!

Scott

Well, if it's for radio, then you want stuff that I'm probably tired of.

Is "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith the type of thing you are looking for?

May I suggest.....

Get Off Of My Cloud - Stones
Toad - Cream
Come Together - Beatles
Rock n Rolll - Zeppelin
Won't Get Fooled Again - Who
Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
Hot For Teacher - Van Halen
Superstitous - Stevie Wonder
Popcorn - James Brown (really ANYTHING by James Brown)
Fly Like an Eagle - Steve Miller

I guess you could also try Wipe Out but I would use the Ventures' version.

You can't really go wrong with any Zeppelin, though I'd go with When the Levee Breaks before Rock n Roll.

Steve Miller Band - Take the Money and Run intro always sticks in my head.

InaGaddaDaVida solo

and I'll thrid Walk This Way.

Dude, anything from The Who, Led Zepplin, or Cream would probably work. I'd suggest all that has already been mentioned, plus Babba O'Reilly and the drum part to "Jack and Diane" (you know, before and after the bridge. It's not really fast or anything, but it's recognizable).

How about Young MCs "Bust a Move". I heard it on Uncle Buck last week and found the drums to be ....captivating.
