Default Causes of Electrical Noise In Audio

    Hello people,

I'm working on random tidbits in my home recording book and I'm trying to think of all the potential most likley causes of electrical noise in recording a guitar, bass, or even a microphone.

    So far I have:
Space heaters, CRT screens, fluorescent lighting, and light dimmers.

Anything else you can think of?

    Brandon

Low quality or lack of shielding, Ground loops, transmitters/receivers, AM/FM signals (only an issue if shielding is an issue), Anything involving cathode Ray Tubes (oscilloscope, TV etc. - You said CRT Monitor, just wanted to make sure you included this stuff)

For those who don't know. Cathode Ray Tube = CRT = Tube used in your TV, old-school computer monitors and other devices

in floresent lighting include thos new bulbs that save energy. They are floresent but some people don't know that. Also I find if you use a UPS (uniterupted power supply) these tend to take out interference in computers and also if the is a brown out it doesn't shut down the computer.
