Default can anybody tell me what these eq symbols mean?

i wus going thru this mixing tutorial..but i kinda got stumped on the eq part becuase i couldnt figure out wich symbols next to the band number in this tutorial meant high pass low pass etc etc can anyone help real quick?

None of those show a h or L pass filter 1,5,and 6 show shelving and 2,3, and 4 show bells. Looks like theres a drop down to allow you to choose dif filters, but i dont see a high pass filter there.

1 is a shelving filter [CORRECTED]
5 and 6 are shelving filters [CORRECTED]

2, 3, and 4 are notch filter with very, very low Qs (< 1) (i.e., not really being used for notching). They're typically set in the Q = 2 to 8 range.


I use this EQ SonitusFX (did I spell it right this time) all the time.

You are mistaken Tony look at the pictures on th screen. Those are shelving filters not high or low pass.

DUH! You're right! sorry it's still early.

there is no "passing" going on in that example for sure. It's not even set on passing.
