I just saw an add in Tape Op. It seems like some REALLY big dogs are giving these new Audio Technica Headphones OUTSTANDING reviews. I've never heard any bigwigs go this nuts of headphones that are this inexpensive. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried them. Brandon |

As far as that goes, user reviews are just as tainted in situations like headphones. You can never trust the average dumbass who posts on Musiciansfriend. (Then again, I just made the final payment on my new review script today!) Quote:

USer reviews almost always say they love it etc. Not many people want to admit they wasted a bunch of money on some mediocre product. I like to look for the non-subjective stuff like "Damn thing fell apart in 2 months" or things like that. If there is a trend in user reviews it is probably some indication of truth. That is just like me writing a user review on my new Rokit 6 monitors. Sure I can say they sound great and I love em etc. But they are my first pair of monitors so what the hell do I know if I got a good deal for the money or that they sound great compared to anything else. I don't really know who George and Al are so I don't know what they would be risking by giving an endorsement. Being pretty new to all of this I don't know all of the major players. |

[QUOTE=Audiodr;75855]I just bought a pair of the ATH-50s specifically for use with my V-drums. The TD-20 V-drum head is capable of producing extreme low end and my old standby Sony 7506s just weren't cuttin' it. These AT phones are miles above my old 7506s. If you can spare the coin, get a pair. You won't regret it. Plus, getting endorsements from Al Schmitt and G Massenburg and the other notables listed I doubt could be bought at any price. |

well, looks like i'm going to have to invest in these cans. i just got into recording and producing, and my mixes sound like crap. My vocals are always too low, and my beat's bass is always overpowering. hopefully these give me the accuracy that i want and need. anyone have a good article on how to get good, accurate mixes? |

Hey, I hope this isn't an inappropriate question, but I'm looking into getting these headphones sent to me from the US to Belgium. Basically it's a difference of 80 euro (about a hundred dollars). I want to get it sent by mail, and I was hoping someone could tell me what the product dimension of these headphones are (more or less) out of the box ? So basically squeezed into one of those flat-rate shipping boxes. No, I'm not some shady dude trying to make a buck, just a struggling musician like the rest of us ! So anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. (product dimensions IN the box are specified in Amazon, but not out the box of course). Like I said, hope this isn't inappropriate of me! I would just really like a pair at a fair price. Thanks. |
