 AT4050 Sounds Better With Trident S20
I've owned my AT4050 since 2003, so I've had a chance to use it on all types of sources. I've never really been overly found of it. I never disliked it, but I don't remember ever being excited about it either. Of course, for so long I've been using it with my Vintech 1272. Without a doubt, the AT4050 sounds more alive with the Trident S20 I picked up about a month ago. I guess you could call it "clearer" but I would call it more exciting. For the first time, I get an "idea" vocal sound out of the AT4050. Have you guys ever noticed a mic performing noticeably better with a certain preamp? Brandon
