Default Anyone else find the M-Audio Fastrack USB to be an unuseable piece of junk?

My dad got me one for my birthday in March and I attempted to work with it for a bit figuring it would be good for laying down scratch tracks or fast recording song ideas for later...but it ALWAYS crashed on me and I only ever got two songs to bounce!
I contacted M-Audio via there website and was told to install the latest drivers and I did and that still didn't help!
I've already got a new interface, which is two channel so it's much more functional anyway but just wanted to see if this is a garbage product or if I should perhaps send it in for a new one?
My PC Specs:

Windows XP Proffesional SP2
Soundblaster Audigy 2 Gamer version sound card
AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 @ 2.8GHz
2 GB OCZ enhanced latency platinum DDR 400
2x250 GB Western Digital Caviar SATAII hard drives
AVAST! Antivirus
Spybot Search and Destroy

Any other specs you guys may need, feel free to ask!

Nope.

Look at my sig. That's my gear. Though I will be upgrading in 2008 to a Firebox/Pod, it won't be because this product has any problems.

This is probably your problem. I don't install any unnecessary software on my recording rig. I can all this "unnecessary" because my recording computer has no internet.

I would expect you to solve about 90% of yoru problems if you had a dual boot setup for seperate installs for recording and normal computer stuff.
