Default Rock 'n' Roll Show -i think its country style?

A song i have had around for a while that i used to do just on acoustic,i
thought i would have a go at putting drums and bass on etc.
Please give it a bash and let me know what you think.

I am thinking that the vocals need to come up a bit, and maybe bring the snare down a tad. Also maybe the Hi Hiats/tambourine needs to come down.

The drums appear to drop when the vocals start. Is that intentional?

I can almost hear the lead guitar in some parts.

I also think that the song could be transposed up one semitone to make hte key easier on the vocalist.

Nice arrangements though.

Yes the vocal could come up a bit,i think you get the impression that the drums get lower when the vocal comes in because its not just drums anymore. no tambourine in the mix.
I can almost hear the lead guitar in some parts, dont know what you mean by that? i dont want the lead to stand out like a sore thumb in this.
I feel if it was transposed up it wouldn't have the same feel i was looking for.

I forgot to mention that I was using crappy earbuds, so maybe that distorted teh Hi Hats for me.

But What I meant about the lead guitar is that it could come up a teeny bit to make it more audible (not excessive).

Liked the song!

I sounds like the limiting at the end of your path probably jacked your mix around. I 'm guessing that your solo's where up a little more before you "mastered" but the limiter pulled them back. It is really impressive when this huge drum sound comes in but then everything gets sucked down and crowded together. I like the raw edginess to your performance. I didn't find the vocals quiet. I think this track would benefit from some strategic compression on the individual tracks but I would need to hear it with out the limiter on the end to know where exactly.

Cheers

what the others said about drums being "sucked and ducked" when the rest of the program material comes in.
Performance-wise ....the timing and groove is not in the pocket with the drums, that's the first thing I would correct if it were me.

I like the song, but the rhythm guitar sounds "watery and wavery"... is that a phaser or tremolo? if so, I think it's pulsing at a tempo against or out of the beat of the song.
maybe I'm not hearing it right... or maybe that's what FreddyG is picking up on too?
