Default Now it's your turn to bash/Roadblocks

This is one of those mixes that's a problem child for me. Any constructive comments would be helpful. It's a Christian/rock style. Bash away.

WOW ....great big sound ..GOOD MIX on this for sure ..I might bring the "grunge rythm " guitar down just a tad .....but that may be just my 90's country ear ..

Funny , I just picked up a set of reference monitors ( first set) and I am retraining my ear with them ...its really been frustrating ..but this track sounds incredible through them ( YSM 1i Yorkville ) .

Thanks for your feedback. I've been working on this mix for forever. I couldn't tell what else it needed. Do you like the short delay effect on the lead vocal? I've listened to it for too long to be objective. Thanks again, Jeff.

I think the delay thing is a matter of taste .... although delay seems to make the lyric/vocal more difficult to hear , in my experience . I try to keep the "environmment" more or less consistent in a track , usually . Are your drums programmed ? They sound great to me .... All of the instruments sound really accurate and certainly have lots of energy . Nice track .....

This was tracked live in the studio by my band. Of course we did a few overdubs on vocals and the keyboard stuff. We always play with a click track, it just helps to keep things tidy. This was all old school with real drums and live performance captured on pro tools.
Check out my other track. It's a bit more country. Thanks for the comments, Jeff.

What compression setting do you use? Just a bit too much squash for my taste. The eq helped the high end. There are actually two different lead singers on this track /verse/chorus. I'll have to re-mix to sweeten up the vocal on the choruses to match the verse vocal. Thanks for your input, Jeff.

Perfect compression. The overall eq works great as well. I've been working on this project for way too long, but nearing the home stretch now. Thanks for showing me how it could sound with the right tools in place. What do you think of the song, band, etc?
